SO IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD, St Kilda managed to win their last game over Essendon by 108 points, earning us the 4th spot on the ladder! HAH take that Adelaide. [St Kilda hates Adelaide because they beat us in the 1997 grand final grrrrrrrr. I know I know it's been over 10 years but this is football; we don't forgive easily]. Which means that we get a double shot at finals, and live to play on for at least another two games and we'll be able to try and give the best possible send off for Robert Harvey. First final for St Kilda is against Geelong (woohoo.... the best team by far in the league -__-) on Sunday afternoon; we'll most likely lose that, I'll be happy if they try their best and are competitive at least. But because we finished top 4, that means we're not out of the finals immediately; we'll play the winner of the elimination final between Collingwood and Adelaide in the semi-final. And we'll have a good shot at winning against those teams and it'll be a home final. So I'm excited! :D September is the best month of the year - footy finals, mid-semester break, warming weather. Hee.

Unfortunately though, this weekend is going to be very busy. I have an essay [plan] to write for my Classics subject on how Euripides' The Bacchae challenges the Athenian male identity, as well as a macroeconomics assignment due on Monday. Gah. Saturday night we're having a housewarming party and I hope to get to the library as well to borrow books for the aforementioned essay. Thankfully I have tomorrow off; but going to see Tropic Thunder (excited!) and a teeeeeeensy bit of clothes-trying-on (note: no actual BUYING) will probably occur. xDDD

And my American Apparel order arrived today! Gaaaaaah I am so in love with the grey raglan slouchy jumper. It sits so perfectly! Will be returning two of the tees though; one grey one for a black instead (and a larger size since I want it loose), and returning the white one because it's too long. Besides, saw the actual one I wanted in David Jones yesterday so I'll go pick that up instead. And Gen Pants Co. stock Alternative Apparel now and I love the white burnout tee so I might get that as well. I plan on getting a Nathan Smith oversized racerback top and Bassike black cotton jersey trackpants eventually too, in summer. Sooo good. Ugh I should really stop talking about clothes. Note to self: tone up arms.

By the way, the season premiere of Gossip Girl was... interesting. A little meh, a lot WTF in a certain moment with a certain Lord Marcus (WORST. ENGLISH ACCENT. EVERRRRR. I suspect Ed Westwick was cringing through the entire filming of that scene.) Compared with the storylines they had last season this episode was so tame. But yes, I am eagerly awaiting future episodes.

PS. I got 9/10 for my Finance assignment, hah! Fluke. I actually find Finance really awesome and interesting; definitely on track to major in it. Unlike that pissant douche of a subject Accounting. My tutor also mentioned that taking Corporate Law would benefit those majoring in Finance as well which I was planning on doing next year anyway, so that's awesome. :D And Nilss (my macroeconomics lecturer) is so so cute. He was awful excited about the Reserve Bank lowering interest rates by 25 basis points (0.25%). xDD

Aaaaah found and bought the most perfect pants today! Here's the full story XD

After uni headed out to Melb Central with Suzy (♥) and her friend (whose name I've forgotten again Suzy hahaha) and proceeded to spend around an hour in both Sportsgirl and Diva. Sportsgirl had some nice belts that I was considering but didn't get in the end; I have an $80 store credit so I'm somewhat anxious to spend that soon. Sportsgirl and AM Eyewear are also doing a collaboration at the moment and there were a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses which were VERY nice and that I quite liked, but they are $130. So even with the voucher it'd be an extra $50 and I'm not sure yet... maybe when it warms up a little more I'll consider getting them. However, has everyone noticed how the weather has taken a lovely shift towards sunny (yet still freezing) as opposed to torrential downpour? Yes! On more than one occassion I have found that it was sunny enough for sunglasses to be of real help. (Real point to consider.)

After leaving Sportsgirl we headed a few stores down to Diva which was interesting - I hadn't been there in a while having not had any particular desire to buy more jewellery (except chunky rings) and no more so the 'jewellery' of Diva. There were some questionable items for sale in there. But they had some nice headbands I must admit; some veeery cute bow ones a la Blair Waldorf.

(COMPLETE ASIDE - GOSSIP GIRL RETURNS IN 3 DAYS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYONE BE EXCITEDDDDDDDDDD. 8DDDDD)

Both Suzy and her friend then left leaving me to go and spend my $20 voucher at General Pants Co. And that is where I found the perfect pants from Something. Yesyesyesy! The item description calls them "shiny track pant" but they are way cool. They're only called track pants because it has an elastic waistband but they sit and look and feel exactly like tapered pants that are baggy around the thighs. In other words, EXACTLY what I have been searching for. They even have pockets at the side and have zips at the ankles. But rolled up at the bottom the pants are way awesome; they're the lightest cotton and so so comfy. I really can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit so I can wear them without freezing my legs off; it'll be a nice change from wearing skinny jeans all the time. :D Incidentally, when me and Jo went to Chapel Street on Monday, whilst in Fat I tried on these Bassike shiny track pants which were just as awesome but they didn't have pockets which diminished their appeal a little, notwithstanding the price tag which came in at a whopping $275 (wtf mate they're track pants!). Bassike also had a jersey version which were also very nice and a slightly more reasonable $120 (so soft!). But the Something ones are even better - they were just $90 and with my $20 voucher came in at $70 which I thought was pretty great considering I'll be wearing them all the time.

Also whilst on Chapel St, went to American Apparel to try on their stuff to see what sizes I would be ordering them online in, and so in love with the raglan grey slouchy jumper thing. It is sooo fantastic. Ordered from AA online today so I should receive a big parcel in the mail in about a week! Exciting! w00t! Additionally I've recently purchased a couple of waistcoats as well from ebay, and a pair of Levis 504s to cut into shorts or just wear as boyfriend jeans. Waistcoats have already arrived but the jeans should arrive tomorrow (today).

In other news of the past week, on Sunday me and my brother went to an AFL game! Yaaay! St Kilda vs. Adelaide, and I am very happy because St Kilda won by 49 points. Also because it was Robert Harvey's tribute match as it was our last home game of the season because Banger is retiring at the end of this season after 21 years in the game. :( 378 games in total so far (with one more this weekend plus however many finals we play), 3rd on the all-time most games played list; he's 37 turning 38 this year, and he started when he was 16 years old. He is a true champion and legend of the game and I am so proud that I was able to be there at the game and cheer him on. The atmosphere was incredible, every time Harvey touched the ball the crowd went off; you should have heard the roar around the ground when he kicked a goal to put us in front for the first time in the game. All the Saints supporters and players gave him a fitting tribute. It really is amazing to think that when he started, 70% of the current players weren't even born yet. And that when the youngest player at the St Kilda Football Club, Jack Steven (who is just 17 and studying year 12 VCE still) was born, Harvey had already played 4 games for St Kilda as a 16 year old. What's even more nostalgic is that Harvey has said that he sees himself in Jack; the shy kid who comes in his school uniform to training after school - that was Harvey 21 years ago. *tear* So thanks Rob, you've been a true ornament to the game. ♥♥♥

Ok, so I haven't updated in a bajillion years, no, really, like 6 days. xD Anyways, I've attended my first two TSFX classes, Chemistry and Biology, and they're both quite good. Uh, I also bought that Alice McCall top, but I'm going to return it on Tuesday next week because I realised it was actually a size too big and I didn't like it that much either. But wow David Jones now stocks LIFEwithBIRD! I think that's pretty awesome, (although I personally think it may lose its "exclusive" appeal it has cultivated somewhat), so instead I'll try on some of those pieces instead.

I think today was a free dress day for the yr 9's and dude I'm always struck by how label-conscious the younger years are. Ok so we're a private girls' school where (more than) quite a few girls are (more than) quite wealthy. But money does not equal style. At the bus stop, there was a girl and she was wearing Bettina Liano skinny jeans (you know the ones) in a dark blue wash (not indigo mind), Marcs Baby Doll (WHICH I HATE) oversized sunnies and these (admittedly very cool) Nike trainers - the big fluoro kind. I kinda dig those. But that entire outfit must have cost upward of $500. I certainly wasn't wearing that when I was 15 - $500 was my entire year's allowance on clothes. Not only that, but it's all very style-by-numbers, like, you buy all the components and end up looking like clones of one another. Is it just me, or is it just not... age-appropriate? Huh.

Next week will be a big week in terms of SACs, there's the first Outcome for Lit, an essay on the 'Transformations & Adaptations' of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest from play to film, (which I am going to write over this long weekend and memorize) and also a Chemistry test on Spectrometry / Colorimetry. T________T

But aside from that, Literature is totally the most awesome subject ever. Because we are going to see two plays at the Melbourne Theatre Company for it, even though we're not actually studying either play. And at night, so we'll get to dress up! :D  They're both extremely well known, All My Sons by Arthur Miller and The History Boys by Alan Bennett. HOW TOTALLY AWESOMEZ IS THAT? We were also going to see Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? by Edward Albee but it was all booked out. D: But the one I really want to see is The History Boys. 8DD And man, we totally have to see King Lear with SIR IAN MCKELLEN when it comes as well. Apparently groups of 10 or more bookings get you priority seating --- anyone interested in coming contact us (i.e. lit students). Expect to pay around $100. And by the by, Holding the Man has been so successful a third season has been scheduled and been moved to the Sydney Opera House!! :33 If it comes to Melbourne I am SO TOTALLY THERE. XDD

I found $30 in my trackpant pocket today! I don't remember putting it there but whatever; it's thirty bucks. I want to buy that black tunic dress from Sportsgirl; I imagine wearing it with tights, my red ankle boots and a one of those chunky beanies. xD I've also found the perfect V-neck wool knit jumper, from Saba. Hmmm. Grey or navy? Grey, I think. Light grey. Like Jessica Stam's. LOLZ.

I've finished my french AND chemistry homework - I'm quite amazed! Anyone know what 'global warming' is in french? I forgot to bring my Zenith home, so I don't know what it is. D8 All I have to do tomorrow is that poem analysis for lit and typing up my biology notes on, of all things, the properties of water. Sheeesh, I did that last year. I can just cut and paste for crying out loud! Dumbass teacher actually wants us to hand them in - why? Are you actually planning on reading it huh? You think you're going to have time to go over 20 yr 12 students' notes on water? Don't you have something better to do, like - planning our next lesson and actually teaching us something perhaps? Why don't you just TEACH it to us in class and that way you KNOW that we're getting the right notes. Arrgh.

OMG I just looked up the cast of Hannibal Rising, and GUH KEVIN MCKIDD IS IN EEEEEET!!! And excuse me but wtf, Hannibal's aunt was Japanese? Played by Gong Li no less? NOW I SRSLY NEED TO GO SEE THIS MOVIE. 8D

My new desk and bookcase are being delivered on Tuesday! Yay! *excited* They're both so much bigger than the ones I have now.

I have watched The Devil Wears Prada every single day for 5 days now. I think I have a problem. xD I just love it too much! Not that it's even a great film, just, I don't know. It's quite different from the novel though. Emily Blunt is so pretty. ♥ I think I'll go and rewatch My Summer of Love. It's a night for psychological vaguely lesbian muted colour indie films. haha xDD
