Aaaaah found and bought the most perfect pants today! Here's the full story XD
After uni headed out to Melb Central with Suzy (♥) and her friend (whose name I've forgotten again Suzy hahaha) and proceeded to spend around an hour in both Sportsgirl and Diva. Sportsgirl had some nice belts that I was considering but didn't get in the end; I have an $80 store credit so I'm somewhat anxious to spend that soon. Sportsgirl and AM Eyewear are also doing a collaboration at the moment and there were a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses which were VERY nice and that I quite liked, but they are $130. So even with the voucher it'd be an extra $50 and I'm not sure yet... maybe when it warms up a little more I'll consider getting them. However, has everyone noticed how the weather has taken a lovely shift towards sunny (yet still freezing) as opposed to torrential downpour? Yes! On more than one occassion I have found that it was sunny enough for sunglasses to be of real help. (Real point to consider.)
After leaving Sportsgirl we headed a few stores down to Diva which was interesting - I hadn't been there in a while having not had any particular desire to buy more jewellery (except chunky rings) and no more so the 'jewellery' of Diva. There were some questionable items for sale in there. But they had some nice headbands I must admit; some veeery cute bow ones a la Blair Waldorf.
(COMPLETE ASIDE - GOSSIP GIRL RETURNS IN 3 DAYS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!! !!!!! EVERYONE BE EXCITEDDDDDDDDDD. 8DDDDD)
Both Suzy and her friend then left leaving me to go and spend my $20 voucher at General Pants Co. And that is where I found the perfect pants from Something. Yesyesyesy! The item description calls them "shiny track pant" but they are way cool. They're only called track pants because it has an elastic waistband but they sit and look and feel exactly like tapered pants that are baggy around the thighs. In other words, EXACTLY what I have been searching for. They even have pockets at the side and have zips at the ankles. But rolled up at the bottom the pants are way awesome; they're the lightest cotton and so so comfy. I really can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit so I can wear them without freezing my legs off; it'll be a nice change from wearing skinny jeans all the time. :D Incidentally, when me and Jo went to Chapel Street on Monday, whilst in Fat I tried on these Bassike shiny track pants which were just as awesome but they didn't have pockets which diminished their appeal a little, notwithstanding the price tag which came in at a whopping $275 (wtf mate they're track pants!). Bassike also had a jersey version which were also very nice and a slightly more reasonable $120 (so soft!). But the Something ones are even better - they were just $90 and with my $20 voucher came in at $70 which I thought was pretty great considering I'll be wearing them all the time.
Also whilst on Chapel St, went to American Apparel to try on their stuff to see what sizes I would be ordering them online in, and so in love with the raglan grey slouchy jumper thing. It is sooo fantastic. Ordered from AA online today so I should receive a big parcel in the mail in about a week! Exciting! w00t! Additionally I've recently purchased a couple of waistcoats as well from ebay, and a pair of Levis 504s to cut into shorts or just wear as boyfriend jeans. Waistcoats have already arrived but the jeans should arrive tomorrow (today).
In other news of the past week, on Sunday me and my brother went to an AFL game! Yaaay! St Kilda vs. Adelaide, and I am very happy because St Kilda won by 49 points. Also because it was Robert Harvey's tribute match as it was our last home game of the season because Banger is retiring at the end of this season after 21 years in the game. :( 378 games in total so far (with one more this weekend plus however many finals we play), 3rd on the all-time most games played list; he's 37 turning 38 this year, and he started when he was 16 years old. He is a true champion and legend of the game and I am so proud that I was able to be there at the game and cheer him on. The atmosphere was incredible, every time Harvey touched the ball the crowd went off; you should have heard the roar around the ground when he kicked a goal to put us in front for the first time in the game. All the Saints supporters and players gave him a fitting tribute. It really is amazing to think that when he started, 70% of the current players weren't even born yet. And that when the youngest player at the St Kilda Football Club, Jack Steven (who is just 17 and studying year 12 VCE still) was born, Harvey had already played 4 games for St Kilda as a 16 year old. What's even more nostalgic is that Harvey has said that he sees himself in Jack; the shy kid who comes in his school uniform to training after school - that was Harvey 21 years ago. *tear* So thanks Rob, you've been a true ornament to the game. ♥♥♥
